STOP THE GENOCIDE CARRIED OUT TO IMPLEMENT THE FREE TRADE AGREEMENT OF U.S. IMPERIALISM IN THE JUNGLE!

In the midst of the general and final crisis in which imperialism is struggling, we are witnessing a tougher competition and hunt for the sources of raw materials throughout the world by the imperialist monopolies and a fiercer struggle between the imperialist countries for the oppressed countries, developing the inter-imperialist contradiction, preparing the conditions for a new distribution of the world. U.S. imperialism as the sole hegemonic superpower, in collusion and struggle with the other imperialist countries, unleashes its genocidal wars against the oppressed countries. But, imperialist aggression fuels the national liberation struggle of the peoples of the oppressed countries against imperialism, with people‘s wars and armed struggles that are driving the growing development of the new great wave of world revolution.

In Latin America and Peru, U.S. imperialism is developing its hegemonic and counterrevolutionary plan through its Free Trade Agreement, with which it wants to guarantee in a complete way the success of its monopolies against all the contingencies of the struggle with the monopolies of the other imperialist powers, and its counterrevolutionary war of „low intensity“ to crush the struggle and resistance of the peoples against its domination, as it is developing against the people‘s war in Peru, and against the peoples in Colombia, Mexico, etc.

In Peru, in February of this year the Free Trade Agreement came into force, after the fascist, genocidal and country-selling García government, violating its own legal order, dictated a series of laws to implement it, subjecting the country to all the dictates of U.S. imperialism and particularly affecting the populations of the Peruvian Amazon.

The masses of the Amazon, as of the country, have rejected the even greater surrender of the country to the imperialist monopolies. Through the Free Trade Agreement package of laws, the Amazonian lands will become the property of the big oil, mining, water, lumber, biofuel corporations, etc. For two months now, the masses of the Amazon have declared themselves in struggle in defense of their lands, their conditions of existence and the sovereignty of the country, which serves to generate a great movement of national resistance against the aggression of U.S. imperialism, as is being promoted mainly by the people‘s war.

The lackey government of García has pointed out that the repeal of these legal norms would put at risk the Free Trade Agreement with the United States and has decided to maintain them in blood and fire and has responded with the blackest, most cowardly and artful genocide against the masses in the jungle of the north of the country (Bagua) and many other places.

In Bagua, on Friday the 5th of this month, in the place called Curva del Diablo, the police attacked the villagers when they were sleeping on the track of the road that had been taken. It was half past five in the morning. First they did it with tear gas and when they saw that they could not get them out of there, they began to shoot. They were shooting at the body, to kill. They were shooting at them from a helicopter and from the hills. Many fell from the bullets. The attack lasted until two in the afternoon. The government is lying when it accuses them of shooting at the police. They only had spears and arrows. Then the repressive forces have disappeared many corpses and have tried to give false figures of the number of dead. As a consequence of this genocide there are more than 30 peasants dead, dozens disappeared, 150 wounded by bullets, almost a hundred prisoners and thousands persecuted by state repression in the direct service of imperialism. It is important to emphasize that the masses have responded to the genocidal violence of the armed and police forces and have caused many casualties. This new genocide, against the masses protesting in the Amazon, is added to the ongoing genocide against the peasantry of the departments of Junín, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Cuzco and Apurímac, mainly in the area wrongly called VRAE, committed by the same government — of García and his Prime Minister Simon — and the same genocidal armed and police forces, under the direct directorship of the Southern Command of the U.S. Armed Forces. In this way, the blood shed by the best sons and daughters of our people flows for the same cause, because it is part of the same and unique struggle of resistance against U.S. imperialism. We are witnessing a decisive moment in the class struggle in our country marked by the greatest advance of the people‘s national resistance war against U.S. imperialism led by the Communist Party of Peru and a new and greater development of the struggles of the people‘s masses against U.S. imperialism and the government of the day and its lackey armed forces and police.

We call to denounce and repudiate this genocide carried out to implement the Free Trade Agreement of U.S. imperialism in the jungle, mobilizing broadly to generate a powerful movement of solidarity with the Peruvian people in favor of resistance against U.S. imperialism.
