This is Benito Mussolini’s manifesto on the essential components of the fascist ideology, written in 1935. We reproduce this essay as an important primary source in order to improve our readers’ understanding of fascism as a means to fight it.
This essay can and should be understood in the light of the writings of the classics of marxism-leninism-maoism and the historic communist leaders, such as Georgi Dimitrov and J. C. Mariátegui, on the topic. It is important not to fall into eclecticism and take the fascists’ word for what their ideology represents. Therefore, studying Mussolini’s essay or other fascist works can only be a complement to the study of the marxist theory about fascism.
